I speak across America on how to use Business Intelligence and Microsoft Excel in a medical practice to dramatically improve a practice’s decision making. The Business Intelligence sessions are interactive discussions. Recent topics include using better dashboards to drive better decisions, seeing the future by mining appointment data, and driving productivity with benchmarks. Some of the best Excel learning takes place at workshops when participants bring their laptops and follow along with the examples. I’ve done workshops for MGMA, AAOE, NERVES, AOA, RBMA, HBMA, state MGMA chapters, specialty specific organizations and for medical practices.

Here’s what people are saying about Nate’s presentations
From MGMA Virtual Conference
Nate was absolutely wonderful. He was reading comments and answering questions while presenting at the same time. Having this live, interactive session made me feel more engaged and I actually did engage more than the other sessions which were taped. It’s great to hear questions in real time as questions are being asked. Other questions in other sessions were lost or there was not enough time to answer. Nate has a wealth of knowledge and great ideas to discuss. MGMA needs to keep him as one of their presenters. Since we cannot be face-to-face, the next best thing is a “live” presentation. Thanks Nate!
Nate is consistently one of the best speakers and resources for MGMA in my opinion. He can distill complicated data mining concepts down and always engages the audience. Attending the conference virtually is challenging, but not with Nate’s session. The best one yet!
Incredibly informative and useful session…great idea sharing
This session was the best of the conference so far. Live is always better, even though I know we are in a weird environment right now. Nate is also informative and flexible. Having him field the live chat was awesome.
Always the best sessions, in-person or virtually!
The presentation was more powerful since Nate presented it in a live format with interaction via the chat feature. I have so many ideas for reporting and dashboards to request from our IT team. I have heard Nate at two previous conferences, and think this is the best one to date.
Nate engaged the attendees with questions throughout his presentation. It added great value to my experience in learning from my colleagues. The chat within this presentation was the best!
Nate’s presentations are always great! Very interactive and he engages the crowd really well.
Nate did a great job of focusing the conversation and showing examples of how to manipulate data to address opportunities during COVID. Will implement several of the suggestions.
Nate is very knowledgeable and dynamic when relating a subject that can be very dry. Appreciate his making the presentation live and modifying his presentation to the group.
Nate was Great!! He needs to attend and present at every MGMA event. His information was amazing. Thank you!
Nate never disappoints and encourages thinking! Excellent as always!
From New Orleans
The different format was GREAT. Very practical and engaging session.
Excellent speaker. The best session for me out of the whole conference.
What a fantastic session. This presenter was engaging and knowledgeable.
The speaker was very innovative and engaging the audience. They essentially drove the direction of the content.
Nate is obviously brilliant and knows his craft. I like how he walked around to give the mics but he needs two assistants to do that during the session. I loved that we were at tables to work together case scenarios. It was not only a great way to learn from others, put ourselves in uncomfortable situations to grow, but also a great opportunity to network and meet others.
Excellent flow. Let us choose topic we wanted to discuss out of 8 or so topics.
Nate was very engaging. The information he presented was informative, timely, and certainly required to be successful.
Great session! Great examples of real dashboards, scenarios, and group exercise and discussions.
Love his format and audience engagement.
This was a good session as it requires audience interaction and suggestions to challenges practices are having.
Engaging speaker…I appreciate the audience participation, discussion, and ideas
Love Nate’s passion, and energy!
This was easily my favorite session/speaker. The speaker transformed the session into an open discussion instead of simply reading his slides. The audience interaction in this session was the most I witnessed throughout the day and there were even some laughs that made the session not only educational but fun.
Out of the park again. His ability to uncover best practices while weaving it into his message was delightful to watch. I also appreciate him tailoring his approach on the spot after conferring with the audience on what we would like to see. A+!!
Great session as all of Nate’s are.
Loved the presenter. Great job!
Excellent session. Needed more time. Nate did an exceptional job. Wish we could have covered everything he wanted to cover as he does a great job.
Great speaker. I have a lot to learn but he provided a great base.
Very interactive session
Great speaker and pertinent information
From Las Vegas
I’ve been to see Nate before and in fact, saw him here for the 3rd time this conference. He is always amazing and a wealth of information. Keep bringing him back year after year!
At last, face-to-face with the dashboard king who delivered best practices from others in the room and a spot on message with an attached tool kit for implementation. Favorite session of the conference. Thanks Nate! I will look you up once I get my data aligned.
Great presenter. Great topic. Very thoughtful and thought provoking.
A+ for Nate again and 3 of 3 for the conference. Love how he delivers his message by including the audience to share best practices.
Nate is a wonderful presenter. I enjoyed this session very much.
Nate is a fantastic presenter. Though he spoke and moved fast, covering lots of content, we was still patient to answer the questions of the attendees. Though I am a novice pivot table user and a few things were review, there were many new, practical functionalities within pivot tables that I learned and will use. It was the best part of the conference for me.
Nate is always a great speaker. Got some great examples to bring back with me.
Most beneficial session.
This session was fantastic. I have a lot of work to do.
Nate is good because he is not only knowledgeable but an excellent trainer.
WOW! He knows his stuff, great speaker!!!!
Despite the high volume of attendants the speaker did a great job in managing the time and training. Even though I already have some current experience in Pivot Tables, I learned great tips to improve my reports.
Excellent skills as a presenter.
Loved the material. Very helpful and willing to share his knowledge.
I had no idea what pivot tables were and I can now create them – definitely worth the $$.
This class was awesome. I learned so much about the pivot tables! Stuff that I can use in the office, daily!
Nate goes very fast! His information is very good, however.
It was an excellent session and would recommend it to everyone!
Nate Moore continues to deliver some of the best sessions at MGMA. He maintains a great base of information (data, analytics) for use in his presentations and adds current and relevant content that is useful across all specialties. Nate Moore is the first speaker I look for when I create my Annual Conference calendar.
I was thrilled to see the additional Session for Nate. He has so much to offer and a terrific ability to get information and examples of “real world” issues, and their solutions, from practice administrators. This additional time (Session) allowed for significant input from Nate and attendees as both drew from what they had gleaned from other Sessions in addition to their individual experiences. It was the most interactive Session I attended at the Conference.
Well presented, excellent engagement of the audience, great approach to involving the content of your session with audience input. I can tell you love what you do!!!
Nate always does a great job breaking down information into tolerable chunks. He also has the right amount of balance waiting for an audience to participate.
Nate did a great job drawing out the audience so we could benefit from the wisdom of the group. Well done!
A great deal of information compressed into a small amount of time.
Nate always does a great job!!
Nate is always a wealth of information.
Excellent, excellent, excellent speaker. Very motivational, encouraged participation. Best session of the day
Nate does a good job. I appreciated that he didn’t just read from the slides but continually asked the groups in the room for examples of what they were doing. I gathered a lot of good ideas from these folks to take back and either start to report on or have our operational folks evaluate.
Engaging speaker with tremendous expertise!
Nate did an excellent job facilitating discussion about mining data to improve no show rate.
Loved the interactive format that this session took on, always great to learn from others.
Really appreciated the sharing of ideas of how to deal with empty appointment slots
I would come back and do a full day with Nate and his training. I am looking forward to getting the books he has in MGMA library. Very effective session.
Nate is incredibly generous with the MGMA community. Changing the format to allow participants in his class to come up with solutions to realistic problems was highly effective.
Great session. Nate is very informative and a great speaker.
Nate is the ONLY presenter I went to that involved the audience in case studies. I wish more presenters would have done this. What it shows is his willingness to allow the group to learn from each other. Thank you for involving networking as part of your presentation. Makes a huge difference…
Great use of interaction! One of my favorite sessions of the conference, both in content and in process!
One of the best sessions I attended. Excellent content and well placed on last day and last session. Speaker and format were engaging and very helpful.
Nate interacted with audience well – gave respect to ideas and opinions. Overall always a quality session
I’d been to one of Nate’s sessions in the past and knew he was pretty effective as a speaker but this session was not of a topic that was on the top ten list for our group to review. Even with that in mind, Nate really was effective in giving me some great ideas through his combination lecture and small group discussions. Got a lot out of the peer responses and questions. Highly effective and valuable session.
Having participants share their experiences was very helpful and effective.
Excellent course with great case study exercises — definitely needed the full 2 hours!
Great format. Really encouraged participation and shared expertise.
From Las Vegas
He could have a whole day!
Awesome! This was an amazing session!
Nate Moore is a gifted speaker and can make Excel exciting (which is a feat!)
Nate is great.
Great delivery style.
From another San Francisco meeting
WOW – Somebody loves his caffeine. Mr. Moore is a great early morning speaker, very energetic, passionate about his topic and knowledgeable. I wish I worked for an organization that would allow us to do half of what he showed us.
I love this session and attend it every year. I get great ideas every time and walk away wanting to do great things for my practice.
This was the best session I attended. I am excited to bring back tools to my team and get going ASAP (I have already reached out to my IT team)
He framed the concepts to make them understandable. He gives us real world examples to make it tangible.
Thank you to the person at the MGMA bookstore that recommended this!!
Smart man and very engaging
Very innovative presenter
From San Francisco
Great! Very informative and information learned will be very effective in our practice. Thank you!
He was great really opened my eyes to collecting data
Full day next year for intro AND advanced session.
It was very informative!! A job well done!!
Every time I see Nate I learn at least 3 things that will streamline my job!
Very impressed with the amount of useful content discussed!
Nate is ALWAYS well worth the time.
Great presenter! He is worth bringing back!!
Very informational! Always information I can use daily.
Nate is fantastic. High energy and so informative, even on such techy stuff. I have lots of info to use.
Nate Moore was a powerhouse speaker. Great tips and tools!
Covered a great deal of information in a short time. It was organized and presented at a level that even a novice could grasp.
Can never get enough of Nate Moore.
Very helpful. I would take additional classes from him.
Nate is very knowledgeable about Excel and was able to teach a wide range of skill levels.
Nate was engaging, informative, and supportive.
This session made me change my afternoon sessions around so I could learn more from Nate. I am extremely interested in learning more about data mining and this is one of the must do take-a-ways I had from the entire conference.
This was the most beneficial session I attended. Great information.
I have already been to Nate’s website to view his Excel Videos and have already encouraged my staff to view them as well. Data mining will save me.
Great presentation from Nate!
From Las Vegas
Awesome. I went out and bought the MGMA book that he co-authored!
Great presentation with additional information provided to how-to videos available online. I can bring this back and share with my reporting team.
What a great course! So many little time saving tricks.
Good practical, in-depth information on reporting.
I could have spent all day on this one session topic. We should explore what other discussion topics he could provide.
Wonderful class. I learned a ton of time saving tips. Please bring him back every year.
Learned a ton of information. One of the best sessions I attended.
Excellent ideas for creating dashboards for managing a practice.
Lots of features illustrated and demonstrated are not hard to set up and extremely helpful to a practice.
From San Diego
Nate does a great job of presenting and holding the audience’s attention. He is extremely knowledgeable.
Opened my eyes to unbelievable new possibilities!
This is step 2 in our data mining goal! Very happy that this presentation was offered!
I thought he was very good, and wished that I had heard him previously in my career!
Nate is so generous with the MGMA members. I learn from every class he teaches.
The best session of the conference. I will definitely be trying out some of the Pivot Table techniques in my practice. Please invite Nate back again for a future conference.
Best session of the whole meeting. I love the deep dive. One hour would not have been enough. I can’t wait to catch up on my work from being gone so I can play with Pivot Tables.
This was by far the best session for me during this conference.
Great session! I will definitely be able to apply this knowledge in my organization to better my business.
Lots of great info! In the world of data collecting, this was very helpful.
From Las Vegas
It was WORTH the price of admission to learn all you can do with Pivot Tables to improve client reporting. He is definitely worth having again!
His enthusiasm and information was excellent. Well delivered. Very relevant and helpful.
Surprisingly great. Excellent and knowledgeable presentation, full of relevant ideas and tricks. Great overview.
Bring Nate back next time
Very useful information and having hands on time is very helpful.
As always – I’ve learned so much. Thanks Nate for all you do.
Thank you for the wealth of information.
From another meeting in Miami
Nate was awesome. His demo of the pivot tables and slicers was very, very helpful.
Nate is always my favorite speaker at this meeting.
Nate is excellent. I would certainly invite him again next year.
By far the best class I have attended so far. VERY informative and the speaker was amazing! Answered all of our questions at our level and was very patient. Terrific!
Wonderful to have this much time to understand and use this information.
Fantastic teacher! He loves this stuff!
I definitely have some ideas about mining referral and pre-auth data now – I believe this will be extremely invaluable.
Very well done. Smart guy!
I really appreciated Nate’s presentation and the resources he provides as the PivotTableGuy!!
Nice job, informative, good discussion.
From San Antonio
Mr. Moore is an excellent presenter. I really enjoyed the information he presented.
Nate was great as usual.
He engaged with the audience prior to his discussion. He asked if anyone was utilizing his Excel spreadsheets that he submits thru the list server. Very helpful.
Nate is great. Glad to see he earned Fellow status this year.
I wanted to let you know that you received a perfect score on our speaker evaluations. One board member said she was not sure she had ever seen that. Congratulations.
This is the best money the government has spent in a long time!
From Las Vegas
Give us more Moore! He’s terrific. Do pivot tables next.
This session and one other paid for the trip. What pearls! This will be extremely useful for the quarterly compensation reports I have to produce manually.
Nate is a great presenter and even takes time to meet the attendees before the session. He makes even a very technical session exciting. I have attended his sessions before and are always excellent.
Session too short, would love to have him back at another conference. This was one of the best sessions I have attended at the conference.
Nate is awesome. I always look forward to his sessions. I just wish he had more time as this is complex material.
Nate is always an extremely knowledgeable and engaging presenter.
If I had known it was going to be this good, I would have brought more people from my office.
From New Orleans
Nate is one of the best presenters I have ever had the privilege to listen to.
I cannot thank Nate enough. His information is invaluable. You do not realize how much time his class will save me.
Nate Moore is the answer to a busy practice administrator’s greatest skill need!
He’s absolutely awesome and I wish he had a longer session because he’s a very effective teacher and there is so much he can teach us.
Presentation was extremely practical and immediately applicable to practice needs. Very good use of sample data to illustrate concepts taught.
This was a presentation I could immediately take and make a tremendous impact on my role as Administrator. The physicians loved the pivot tables I created and are now thirsty for more related information. This is a first in our practice.
For a difficult topic, he kept things moving; was able to address the multi levels of experience in the room – and had a great sense of humor – would love to have him back.
Very well organized and extremely useful – I was able to put what I learned into use immediately upon returning to work. Presenter was also funny, made the day entertaining.
I’ve used what you taught so much it’s ridiculous.
Nate Moore is the best instructor you have.
The content of the session went from very basic yet included many advanced features. Even as a long time user of Pivot Tables, I came away with many useful tools. I would tell a person new to pivot tables to attend without fear and an experienced user to attend to enhance their understanding and improve their utilization of the robust features.
Best Presentation of the Conference!
Fantastic information…very useful…want to learn more about Pivot Tables
Superb topic choice
Nate is outstanding! The class was great as well as the entire program.
WONDERFUL !! Can’t wait to put it into use!
Wonderful. Nate Moore did an excellent job. I’m doing pivot tables right now.
He was great! The information was clear and easy to understand. He was so excited about what he was presenting and the energy in the room reflected it. A completely positive experience. One of the best presenters. Topic extremely on-topic for clinical work. Bring him back!
Excellent job. Even if you come into this with little knowledge, you will walk away with something. He was fabulous. We need a full day with Nate.
This is really powerful stuff, and really elevates our roles in our respective organizations.
This should be repeated and expanded. He has excellent content, delivers it very well, and the practical take-home knowledge is great. Please consider more financial/excel types of sessions.
This was one of the best sessions I attended this year.
Excellent course but way too short. Please let Nate have more time next year. He did an outstanding job.
I’m already using pivot tables, but Nate did give me insight into functionality I was not aware of.
Excellent speaker. Will look for him at future meetings.
This was the best concurrent session I attended. Very hands on and useful information.
This was a great session. I use excel all of the time but this was my first introduction to pivot tables – it is exciting and I can’t wait to put this knowledge into action.
