Excel Video 483 Getting Started with Excel Power View Part 1

Nov 9, 2015Business Intelligence, Excel 2013

Now that we have PowerPivot, Power View, Power Query and Power Map installed, set up and configured, we’re getting started with Power View in Excel Video 483. If you haven’t watched Excel Videos 472 to 482, this video will make a lot more sense once you have Excel configured and you have data to play with. We’re just going to scratch the surface of Power View in Excel Video 483. I want to describe visualizations, show you what some visualizations look like and get a brief overview of the canvas we have to work with in Power View.

Watch for three different types of visualizations, tables, matrices, and cards. If you’re familiar with Pivot Tables, the Power View Field List will look familiar, but also watch for the Active and All tabs that might come back to haunt you later on. I’ll also skip ahead a bit and show you how to change the font size in your visualization so you can better see what I’m doing.

Stay tuned. We’ll continue our discussion in Excel Video 484 with part 2. I look forward to seeing you then.
