Excel Video 486 Power View Filtering Part 1

Nov 30, 2015Business Intelligence, Excel 2013

Power View filtering can add power and flexibility to your visualizations. There are a couple of ways to do power view filtering, so we’ll start with the basics in Excel Video 486. If you’ve filtered Tables or Pivot Tables in Excel, the filtering menus I’ll describe today should be familiar to you. There’s more flexibility in Power View to use and vs. or filters, but other options are similar. Watch for how to use the advanced filters to get more precise, more flexible filtering.

Also watch for the difference between Table filters and View filters. Table filters are limited to the fields in the table, but view filters can use any of the fields in your dataset and control all of the different visualizations in your view. There are other ways to filter Power View data. We’ll work on the Power View equivalent of Slicers in the next Excel Video. I look forward to seeing you then.
