Excel Video 488 Power View Filtering Using Charts

Dec 12, 2015Business Intelligence, Excel 2013

In Excel Video 488 I’ll show you a clever way to do Power View filtering using charts. Watch how I configure a chart to be used as a filter. It makes the filtering interactive and informative at the same time. You can select multiple chart elements to filter at a time and Microsoft makes it easy to switch your filters back and forth with a click. It gets even better when I configure both data tables as charts. Watch how easy it is to switch back and forth between using locations to filter payers and then using payers to filter locations. Power View filtering using charts is something you can’t get with a Pivot Table or a Pivot Chart and is an intuitive way for end users to analyze your data.

Excel Video 488 is the last video I’ll post in 2015. Many of you have been watching Excel Videos for over 6 years. Thanks so much for watching and for spreading the word about these videos. They’ve been viewed well over a million times. Thank you.

Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas this year. We celebrate Christmas at our home, so from our family to yours, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas season or whatever holiday you commemorate at this time of year.
