Excel Video 501 Power View Bubble Charts

Mar 28, 2016Business Intelligence, Excel 2016

A Bubble Chart is another chart that’s available in Power View. While Excel has added the ability to create a Bubble Chart in standard Excel, there are features worth exploring in Power View. Watch how to create a Bubble Chart by setting the x and y axes and then controlling the size of the bubbles. Bubble charts are an interesting way to show three variables at once. Note that in the video I put the provider field in the Details area of the chart. If I put the provider field in the Color area of the chart, it looks more like a traditional legend you’re used to seeing.

Speaking of interesting, stay tuned. We’ll add a fourth variable to the chart and animate the chart at the same time. I’ll bet you haven’t seen an Excel chart do this before. You’ll see animated Bubble Charts in the new Excel Video. Thanks for watching.
