Introducing Excel 2013 BI Tools Excel Video 472

Aug 24, 2015Business Intelligence

Welcome to a new series of Excel Videos introducing Excel 2013 BI tools. Today I’ll demonstrate two of the new Excel 2013 Business Intelligence tools, Power View and Power Map. We’ll cover how to build these visualizations and maps in future Excel Videos. Today I just want to give you a taste of what Excel 2013 Power BI tools can do.

I’ve waited to create these videos for a while. Some of the tools can get complex, and the Excel 2013 BI tools are only available with specific versions of Excel. We’ll cover the requirements and setup in future Excel Videos. I’ll do my best to highlight powerful, easy to use features and to clearly explain the more complicated features.

If you want to see these tools in action, be sure to register for MGMA’s Annual Conference in Nashville this year. My deep dive session is Monday afternoon from 2:15 to 4:00. This year I’ll focus more on operational and clinical data. I’ll have live demonstrations and application ideas from clinics around the country.

There are four Excel-based BI tools: PowerPivot, Power View, Power Map and Power Query, plus a new Power BI tool that is not Excel based. Stick around! There are plenty of medical practice focused Business Intelligence ideas to come.
