Excel Video 123 introduces the idea of putting different types of chart series on the same chart. Today we’ll add two line series to a column chart. To add the series, I simply copied the data and pasted it into my chart. Once the data’s in the chart, I right-clicked the data series I wanted to change from a column to a line and then changed the series chart type.
Particularly when space is limited, such as a dashboard or one page of reports, you might find it helpful to show multiple pieces of information on one chart. A good way to do that may often be to change the series chart type so that you have multiple chart series types (line, column, etc.) on the same chart.
