Excel Video 117 introduces speedometer charts in Excel. Speedometer charts, like the thermometer charts we looked at last time, are a visual way to represent one variable in Excel. Speedometer charts tend to take up a fair amount of space in a dashboard, but they can be a clever way to make a point. In this video, I want to walk through some of the options available once a speedometer chart is created. We’ll start preparing the data to create a speedometer chart in the next video.
Watch Excel Video 117 to see how you can move the needle in the speedometer, change the size of the needle, change the ranges (where does “Low” end and “Medium” start), and change the descriptions on the speedometer. Once your chart’s set up, it’s easy to customize the speedometer to look just like you’d like it to.
