Too Much Information is a bad thing, but not having enough space to share the information you need to present can be a problem, too. Watch Excel Video 214 to see two ways to control how Excel displays data in a cell. We’ll start with the Wrap Text button. Wrap Text is Excel’s way of expanding the row height to make room for more data in one cell without having to increase the column width. You can play with the tradeoff between more row height and more column width to get just the result you need to display your data.
I’ll also show you how to use Alt+Enter to control where the carriage return breaks in your data. If there’s specific text you want to keep together as you use Wrap Text, Alt+Enter will be very helpful for you. Stay tuned. There are a few more ways to display data I’d like to show you.
