If you’ve hidden rows or columns and don’t want to copy what you’ve hidden, watch Excel Video 273. There are a couple of different ways to not display something in Excel. You can format your data as a table and then filter out the rows you don’t want to display. If you copy a range with filtered rows, Excel won’t copy the rows that were filtered. That’s one solution.
If for some reason due to your dataset or the way your spreadsheet is arranged that you can’t format the data as a table and then filter, here’s another way to copy only what’s displayed on the screen. The trick is to Go To Special and then select visible cells only. Now that only the visible cells are selected, the visible cells are the only cells that will be pasted.
