Excel Video 416 showcases another way to track values in your code and watch when they change. The Watch Window takes a little setup, but once you add watches, you can watch variables, values, and other aspects of your code throughout the macro. As the macro changes the values you watch, the values update automatically. You can even make the code stop, or break, when a value changes so you can find the line of code that’s giving you grief. You can also hover over code to see the current value of variables and other values.
We’ve spent a lot of time on debugging code, but I hope the time we’ve spent will save you a bunch of time in the long run. Starting in the next Excel Video, we’ll turn our attention to selecting and defining ranges, areas in a spreadsheet where we want to work. I look forward to seeing you then.
