Excel Video 449 introduces Data Callouts, a new feature in Excel 2013. Watch how to use and customize Data Callouts. In my opinion, the space Data Callouts take up isn’t usually justified by the additional information they may provide. I typically use Data Labels as we’ve discussed in the past two Excel Videos. Watch the video to see what Data Callouts look like and see if they will be helpful to you.
Also watch for when I double-click the Data Callout and type in custom text. You can also add text to a Data Label. The advantage of adding text is that you can add just the text you want to see. The disadvantage of adding text is that you’ll likely need to edit or remove the text if you reuse the chart next month.
Data Tables are next. I look forward to seeing you then.
