Excel Video 94 continues our discussion of whiz-bang ways to update your chart ranges. Last time we added a scroll bar to control the chart range. Today, we’ll try spin buttons. Spin buttons are simply an up arrow paired with a down arrow that we’ll use to change the value in cell G14. The control’s settings are similar to the scroll bar. Again, the key is to link the control to the right cell, G14 in our case, so that when the user clicks the spin buttons, the value in G14 is updated.
Now that we’re familiar with OFFSET and some of the developer controls, there’s a wide variety of applications in a medical practice. Remember how we defined names using the Name Manager in earlier videos? We’ll define a whole bunch of names and play with a new form control in the next Excel Video. Stay tuned.
