Excel Video 217 has some easy ways to format numbers and dates in Excel. Do you want to put a dollar sign in front of your number? Add a comma as a thousands separator? We’ll discuss the difference between the Accounting format and the Currency format, how to make .6 display as 3/5, and how to include the day of the week when displaying the date. These tricks will probably solve most of your number and date formatting needs. Custom number formats can also be very helpful, especially when it comes to dates and times.
