Excel Video 111 introduces a dashboard you could make with Sparklines in Excel. In this video I’ll walk through the components of the dashboard. Stay tuned for future Excel Videos where I’ll go through the steps to create the dashboard. Notice how each diagnosis code in my dashboard is comprised of two Sparklines, a Line Sparkline for revenue and a Win/Loss for profits. The up or down arrow shows the change compared to prior year revenues and is created using Conditional Formatting.
The other thing I’ve done to this dashboard is I’ve created a hyperlink behind each revenue Sparkline (the bigger, Line Sparkline) that links to a tab with charts for more detailed information. If a user sees that revenues are down, they can click on that Sparkline for more information. Next time I’ll walk through how to create a dashboard group. We’ll make the hyperlink work in Excel Video 113.
