In Excel Video 270 we’ll find cells based on the format of the cell. If you don’t care about the contents of the cell but want to find all of the cells with a red background color or a blue font, here’s how to do it. You can also find cells based on both the content and the format of the cell. If you want to find all of the cells with CIGNA in bold, here’s how to that as well. I’ll show you how to tell Excel which format to look for, and I’ll also show you how give Excel an example cell and have it find all cells with the same formatting. Finding based on cell format as well as cell values makes your finding even more powerful.
I’ll also show you how to find all cells in a spreadsheet at once with the Find All button. The Find All window has hyperlinks to each cell, making it easy to quickly go to the cell you’re looking for. You can also replace all matching cells at once with a Replace All button.
That’s what I wanted to say about finding and replacing in Excel, but there’s more in the Find and Select menu that’s worth exploring. We’ll start next time. Thanks for watching.
