Excel Video 390 will make our advanced filtering more powerful with wildcards. We’ll discuss two different wildcards, an asterisk (*) and a question mark (?). The asterisk filters any number of any character. In the video a* will filter for any patient whose last name starts with a. The question mark filters for any single character. A filter a? filters for any patient whose last name starts with a and only has two letters in the last name. Watch the video for a way to combine both wildcards into one filter.
Wildcards add a lot of power, but I’m still not finished with advanced filters. Stay tuned next time for even more ways to make advanced filters more advanced.
