There are three things to consider as we discuss axis titles in Excel Video 444 today. The first point is that axis titles are often redundant. The titles take up space on the chart but many times a reader can use the fact that the axis is formatted with a dollar sign or months and years to understand the context of the data without an axis title. The second thing to watch for is how to change the direction of the vertical axis text. The third thing to watch for is that, for me, it’s easier to format axis titles (and other chart components) using the formatting tools on the ribbon instead of the chart menus. Both options work, so format your charts in the way that it’s easiest for you.
Stay tuned. We’ll discuss chart titles next. Thanks for watching.
